Clinical Internship is an amazing opportunity for students to gain hands on experience in the medical field, Coursework takes place at various local medical facilities including the hospital, outpatient clinics, veterinary offices, dental offices, and others depending on student career choices. Clinical Internship is the capstone course for both Therapeutic Services and Emergency Medical Services in the Health Science Pathway. Students must complete prerequisite courses and complete an application process to gain entry into the program. Once accepted, students interview to discuss optimum placement choices for their internship experience in the community. Students enrolled in Clinical Internship are encouraged to demonstrate mastery of knowledge and skills learned in this course by earning their Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification. We partner with the National Health Career Association to offer this opportunity to our interns. Medical Assistants focus care on ambulatory patients and can perform a variety of skills including phlebotomy, injection administration, vital signs, and perform electrocardiography testing.
